Every member of the Nethergate Dental Practice team is devoted to ensuring that their skills and knowledge remain at the forefront of dentistry, so we can deliver the best *pain free dentistry in Dundee.
Many first-time dentistry patients to Nethergate are amazed and reassured by our approach. We often have patients tell us that they have a feeling their previous dental experiences of quick visits for a ‘check-up’ were merely taking a ‘patch-up’ approach to their mouths, which may not be the best solution long-term. Technology and preventive science have come a long way in dentistry.

Dr Sarah Idris
I graduated from Sudan in 2016 and then moved to Scotland, working in Buckie and then Glenrothes. In 2021 I completed a Master’s degree in Restorative Dentistry at the University of Birmingham.
I have also completed two fellowships in Italy in Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry in 2018 and Laser Dentistry in 2017. Furthermore, I a member of the Association of Dental Implantology.
In addition I have trained to provide multiple clear aligner systems along with facial aesthetic treatments.
My specific interests in dentistry are cosmetic smile makeovers, painless dentistry, giving patients back the ability to eat and smile like they used to. I enjoy getting to know my patients and their families, whilst creating a relaxed and pain-free experience.
In my free time, I love travelling, swimming and shopping!
Rohini Mukerji
Following graduation from the University of Aberdeen in 2018, I completed Vocational Training and 2 years of dental core training. This involved developing a combination of Restorative clinical skills, supervising undergraduate dental students, daily emergency clinics within the public dental service and a year in a busy Oral Maxillofacial Department covering 3 hospitals in the North West of England.
I also worked within the Public Dental Service for a year particularly helping children, anxious and vulnerable patients.
I look forward to utilising these skills in practice particularly in allowing people to feel more comfortable within the clinical environment.
In my spare time I enjoy yoga, hill walking with my partner and springer spaniel and coffee dates with my little boy.
Rachel King
My name is Rachel King. I am a qualified dental nurse here at Nethergate Dental Practice. I joined the team in January 2024 after working in Dundee Dental Hospital.I previously worked as a lifeguard and felt it was time for a career change.
After going through some orthodontic work myself when I was younger I immediately took an interest in dentistry. I started as a trainee dental nurse in August 2021, and have been a qualified nurse for 2 years now. I love working alongside the dentists and therapists here at Nethergate. I enjoy all aspects of dentistry from a scale and polish to smile makeovers.
In my spare time I enjoy seeing family and friends, and going out for food. I love spending time and cuddling with my ragdoll kitten called Kimchi. I also love a walk with my cocker spaniel Leo.

Melissa Patterson
I’ve been with the company since November 2023, and I love being able to help people, especially when it comes to supporting nervous patients. My background as a spa therapist has given me a strong foundation in providing care and comfort, which I bring to my current role.
Outside of work, I’m a proud pet parent to Gulliver, my Senegal parrot whom I adopted four years ago. I also practice Nichiren Buddhism, which helps guide me in both my personal and professional life.
