Our mission is to deliver pain free dentistry to the people of Dundee
Every member of the Nethergate Dental Practice team is devoted to ensuring that their skills and knowledge remain at the forefront of dentistry, so we can deliver the best *pain free dentistry in Dundee.
Many first-time dentistry patients to Nethergate are amazed and reassured by our approach. We often have patients tell us that they have a feeling their previous dental experiences of quick visits for a ‘check-up’ were merely taking a ‘patch-up’ approach to their mouths, which may not be the best solution long-term. Technology and preventive science have come a long way in dentistry.

Pain free dentistry or your private treatment visit is free
Painless Promise 2:

Meet Your Pain Free Dental Team
Dr Sarah Idris
I graduated from Sudan in 2016 and then moved to Scotland, working in Buckie and then Glenrothes. In 2021 I completed a Master’s degree in Restorative Dentistry at the University of Birmingham.
I have also completed two fellowships in Italy in Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry in 2018 and Laser Dentistry in 2017. Furthermore, I a member of the Association of Dental Implantology.
In addition I have trained to provide multiple clear aligner systems along with facial aesthetic treatments.
My specific interests in dentistry are cosmetic smile makeovers, painless dentistry, giving patients back the ability to eat and smile like they used to. I enjoy getting to know my patients and their families, whilst creating a relaxed and pain-free experience.
In my free time, I love travelling, swimming and shopping!
Following graduation from the University of Aberdeen in 2018, I completed Vocational Training and 2 years of dental core training. This involved developing a combination of Restorative clinical skills, supervising undergraduate dental students, daily emergency clinics within the public dental service and a year in a busy Oral Maxillofacial Department covering 3 hospitals in the North West of England.
I also worked within the Public Dental Service for a year particularly helping children, anxious and vulnerable patients.
I look forward to utilising these skills in practice particularly in allowing people to feel more comfortable within the clinical environment.
In my spare time I enjoy yoga, hill walking with my partner and springer spaniel and coffee dates with my little boy.
I qualified from Dundee University with a BSc in Oral Health Sciences in June 2008. Since then I have worked in various dental practices across the east of Scotland. I love every aspect of my job but I have a special interest in treating anxious patients and children.
In my spare time I try to visit my family in Northern Ireland as much as possible, I am an avid reader and I love to cook.
I have worked in Dentistry for 14 years. I started Front of House, then trained as a Dental Nurse, I have progressed in my career over this time to a Patient Care Coordinator then on to being a Lead Nurse and now I am a Practice Manager. I have worked in purely private practices and mixed NHS/Private. What I love most about dentistry is smile makeovers, I love how something as simple as this can completely change a persons confidence and ability to smile.
I started at Nethergate Dental Practice just at the start of 2023 and I am enjoying my new role as a Practice Manager.
In my free time I spend the days either with my pony out exploring, hill walking and adventures with my little Labrador or out mountain biking. I love the outdoors so even on my lunchbreak I am out for a big walk and enjoying the fresh air.
I have recently joined the Nethergate team as front of house.I have worked in hospitality for many years prior to joining the team, I am looking forward to meeting lots of new people and furthering my career within dentistry and the Pain Free Group. While I have only been here a short time I’m really enjoying it. In my spare time I like taking my dog on long walks, eating out and visiting new places.
I have recently joined Nethergate Dental Practice as a Trainee Dental Nurse.
I have previously worked in a different dental practice as a trainee dental nurse since November 2022, and I have really enjoyed it so far.
In my spare time I like to spend time with family and friends and my horse Pride.
